For real world usability this is currently the best 64GB flash drive (superseded by the Ventura Ultra - 2014). It has a very balanced performance profile with an exceptional 4K random write speed. The 16GB version of the Extreme is currently the value leader in the USB 3.0 flash drive shootout. At present there are no viable alternatives to the 64GB Extreme in fact the Corsair voyager GT turbo is the only drive on the horizon that may challenge the Sandisk any time soon. There are however several reports (Newegg, Amazon) of compatibility issues with this, the 64GB version (other versions are fine), so if you do go for the 64GB version, don't throw the receipt away in a hurry. The DataTraveler Elite has a very well-rounded performance profile and it excels in the area of small file (~4K) read/write speeds. With a headline sequential read/write speed of 76/36 MB/s the DataTraveler Elite does not break any records but it's respectable. The drive is slightly larger than most but it still only weighs 12 grams which is less than average for a usb pen drive. In terms of value this drive is excellent as it provides a very balanced all round performance at an extremely low cost. [Jun '12USBFlashPro]
