USB 2.0 is old tech, so in terms of performance this drive is less than half as fast as its USB 3.0 counterparts. Interestingly the 4K write speed is reasonable at 0.4 MBps. If you plan to move a lot of data to and from the drive you will be much better off with one of the faster USB 3.0 drives. That said, the SE9 has a beautiful form factor and is both rock solid and relatively light making it ideal for use on a keyring. [Nov '12USBFlashPro]
We really like this drive, it's one of our favourites. The JetFlash 780 has superb benchmark scores, at 170 MB/s this drive has the highest sequential read score we have ever seen on a consumer grade flash drive. Very interestingly the performance profile on our test unit exceeded even the manufacturers claimed speeds by over 30MB/s! The 4K write speed is less impressive, but passable at 0.3 MB/s. With reasonably solid all round performance and a reasonable price point of £23 this drive represents outstanding value for money. [Jun '12USBFlashPro]
We highlight the best USB flash drive in terms of balanced performance and value for money using current prices, sequential read, sequential write , 4k read and 4k write speed. The speeds are combined to form a single effective speed which measures performance for tasks such as copying photos, music and videos. Effective speed is adjusted by current price and capacity to yield value for money. Finally thousands of individual user ratings are used to validate our benchmark figures. [USBFlashPro]
