Because of its fantastic headline read/write speeds, there is often a lot of interest in this drive. It's not available in 16GB so I couldn't include it in the standardized tests. Quickly looking at the 64GB Kingston HyperX 3.0 (manuf.) claimed seq r/w speeds 225/135 @ £78 or $100. Compared to the November leader - Sandisk Extreme 64GB version (manuf.) claimed r/w 190/170 @ £45 or $79. The extreme is significantly better value, and has much much faster 4K write speeds. The 16GB Corsair Flash Voyager GT is an above average performer. With burst sequential read/write speeds of 130/24 MBps the GT has a reasonable large file performance profile. The GT clocked in an effective speed of 73.6 MB/s which puts it amongst the top 25% of 16GB USB 3.0 flash drives. The peak small file 4K read/write speeds of 18.8/0.93 MBps demonstrated by our four samples are remarkable. These speeds mark the Voyager GT as the fastest 4K reader and the fourth fastest 4K writer amongst all the 16GB flash drives we have tested to date, a very impressive result. [Feb '14USBFlashPro]
We highlight the best USB flash drive in terms of balanced performance and value for money using current prices, sequential read, sequential write , 4k read and 4k write speed. The speeds are combined to form a single effective speed which measures performance for tasks such as copying photos, music and videos. Effective speed is adjusted by current price and capacity to yield value for money. Finally thousands of individual user ratings are used to validate our benchmark figures. [USBFlashPro]
