Measures incompressible data transfer speeds
SSD Benchmarking Utility...
AS-SSD is a recent benchmarking application which, as the name suggests, is focused on benchmarking solid state drives. The utility is very similar to the age old CrystalDiskMark utility both in the tests it performs and the format of its output. The main advantage of AS-SSD is its ability to measure incompressible data transfer speeds (that is data such as photos or videos which cannot be compressed by the controller). Additionally AS-SSD uses file sizes (large) appropriate to solid state drives which are typically much faster than flash or regular mechanical hard drives.

Q? In the upper left box, what do iaStorAC and 1024K mean? And why would I have one drive that says 16384K rather than 1024K?
Good job to everyone who was involved in the creation of this product.
This utility is particularly good for measuring incompressible data transfer speeds. The aggregate read/write figures are very cleverly computed to give an accurate reflection of a drives speed which includes small and random performance as well as the headline sequential figures. It's a shame the utility uses a fixed 1GB file size as this prevents is use for slower drives. Pros: Good aggregate read/write stats. Cons: Not very customisable.
Pretty good
