Effective Speed: Good (64th percentile)

The Rage XT offers above average read performance but, like several of the other USB 3.0 flash drives we have reviewed, it has an asymmetrical performance profile which significantly favours reading over writing. For some use cases that won't pose much of a problem but for most users the drive will be limited by its relative inability to write quickly. For the level of performance offered we find the Rage XT overpriced. There are far better deals to be had which offer both faster all round performance and come at a lower price. [May '13 USBFlashPro]
