I have not done a full review of this drive but given its relatively rare positioning as a Rugged USB 3.0 drive, the first drive I put it head to head with, based in its official specs, was the Kingston Datatraveler R3.0. The Kingston R3.0 leads the budget end of the USB 3.0 flash drives spectrum and it also happens to be a rugged drive. The Kingston has quadruple the write speed and a 30% faster read speed than the 810. In terms of price the 810 leads but not by much. I don't think the 810 will be a terribly successful flash drive from Transcend, they need to deliver more performance, especially write, to compete in the now very competitive USB 3.0 flash drive market. [Jul '13 USBFlashPro]

The Flash Survivor is twice both the size and weight of most flash drives. This drive would be as well suited to smuggling diamonds as it is to carrying mp3's and word documents around. If you need a seriously robust flash drive, then this is almost certainly going to be your best choice. From a performance perspective the Flash Survivor is slightly below average but there are no glaring weaknesses, it has a well-rounded performance profile. Finally in terms of value this drive is towards the bottom of the pile unless you need super rugged features in which case it's a very good option. [Jun '12 USBFlashPro]
