The 64 GB Flash Voyager GT has an impressive performance profile. You wouldn't know it without checking the serial numbers but Corsair have released several variants of the USB 3.0 Voyager GT. With each successive version slightly besting its predecessor, this is the best flash drive I have seen from Corsair to date, it even beats the GT Turbo which is more recent. The strongest area of relative performance for the GT is 4K read speed where it achieves 20 MB/s, unfortunately its 4K write speed is almost equally poor clocking in at just 0.15 MB/s. I don't generally like that sort of imbalance in a flash drives performance because it means that from time to time I will get stuck waiting an inordinate amount of time for a data transfer to complete. Taken as a whole the 64 GB GT is a competent performer that's let down by its relatively weak 4k write speed. [Sep '13USBFlashPro]
The Kingston DataTraveler Rubber G2 has a robust (water/shock resistant) form factor and an above average performance profile for a 32GB flash drive. Comparing the performance of the G2 and G1 shows that peak speeds are largely unchanged but average user speeds are significantly faster on the newer G2. We only have three samples of the 32GB G2 at present so we can't form a strong opinion yet. In terms of pricing the G2 is reasonable and is thus currently ranked 8th/27 in the 32GB group test. We will update this review when we have more performance samples. [Jul '14USBFlashPro]
We highlight the best USB flash drive in terms of balanced performance and value for money using current prices, sequential read, sequential write , 4k read and 4k write speed. The speeds are combined to form a single effective speed which measures performance for tasks such as copying photos, music and videos. Effective speed is adjusted by current price and capacity to yield value for money. Finally thousands of individual user ratings are used to validate our benchmark figures. [USBFlashPro]
