The 16GB DashDrive UV150 is a budget USB 3.0 drive from Adata. Unfortunately the performance profile is far more "budget" than the price. With sequential read/write speeds of 50/20 MBps the UV150 struggles to keep up with similarly priced USB 3.0 drives. Even Adata's own S102 Pro costs only slightly more but has nearly double the read speed. In terms of small file speeds the UV150 fares a little better with 4K read/write speeds of 10/0.3 MBps. Overall the DashDrive UV150 has a pretty bright red case, offers below average performance for a 16GB Flash Drive and is somewhat overpriced. There are far better alternatives available in today's market. [Feb '14USBFlashPro]
We like the Kingston Datatraveler R3.0 a lot. It has an extremely well-rounded performance profile, rock solid construction, good real world performance and comes at a below average price for a USB 3.0 flash drive. Kingston have done a great job with this drive and we expect it will do well over the coming months. We could not help but notice several similarities between this drive and the Corsair Flash Voyager both in terms of construction and performance profile. Based on the success of the Voyager, that bodes well for the Kingston R3.0. In absolute terms there are faster drives to be had at this time but only if you are prepared to pay more. We highlight the best USB flash drive in terms of balanced performance and value for money using current prices, sequential read, sequential write , 4k read and 4k write speed. The speeds are combined to form a single effective speed which measures performance for tasks such as copying photos, music and videos. Effective speed is adjusted by current price and capacity to yield value for money. Finally thousands of individual user ratings are used to validate our benchmark figures. [USBFlashPro]
